The book of the dead: behind the resurrection - The Mummy Reviews
I just saw The Mummy today on TBS, and quite frankly, it kicks butt. Rachel Viez( not quite sure how to spell her last name) plays a librarian who, with some O'Connell guy( Brendan Fraser, goes to Hampunatra to gain a historical treasure. But as the book is stolen, she chants an spell that makes all heck break loose, bringing a heartless man who was buried alive for murdering a pharaoh back to life and ready to suck some souls. Jeepers Creepers! They must now find the anti-Book of the Dead to rekill Imhotep before the world succumbs to his unholy powers. Sure the plot sounds kinda cheesy, but bear with me here. Thanks to Stephen Sommer's involvement, the mummy receives a revamped image, making it a feel-good movie. It doesn't hurt that the visuals are eye-poppingly gorgeous. It may not be the Egyptian equivalent of Dracula, but you could do worse if you want to kill some time.
