Absolute dribble... - The Mummy Reviews
I saw The Mummy today. I saw about half in the morning and more at night. I guess it wasn't too bad.
The comedy aspect of it was alright, but this totally killed the adventure and love part to it. I mean, where did the kiss come from?: it was totally out of the blue. For a movie about history and mummies, you'd think there'd be more action.
I wouldn't watch the movie voluntarily, it's not that interesting: well I didn't find it that interesting anyway. It's a good thing I'm watching it on my small (in comparison to the cinemas) TV screen; I wouldn't been really shocked and surprised in the cinema with all those 'sudden' moments.
What I liked about the movie was that it wasn't totally all, 'Cairo, legends and monsters'. It didn't drag on about facts: so I suppose it was a good blend of everything.
What I didn't like was the storyline - it's all over the place. The hero and damsel in distress story wasn't even that good: not that they usually are.
Special effects weren't all that great. It wasn't that visually stimulating either, mostly shades of brown and black, followed by dull clothed actors. The directing was very Hollywood, it wasn't unique.
Hated the soundtrack - all that hero and mysterious music...
